KBV Trainer - Kidney Biopsy Simulation
Project Overview
The KBV trainer is part of 'The Kidney Precision Medicine Project' (KPMP) (https://www.kpmp.org/). The project is a virtual simulator to train clinicians to improve procedural skill competence in real-time ultrasound-guided biopsy. The system consists of a mannequin, an external tracking device to track the ultrasound probe, a haptic device for tactile feedback, a physics-based software simulation engine, and a user interface that displays a simulated ultrasound image with needle overlay.
My Role
This project is in development phase. I collaborated with SMEs, researchers and other stakeholders to gather requirements, create the workflows and generate mockups. Working with developers during implementation phase for UI implementation guidance.
